Katarina Holmström, NSMiF/p – Sweden

A retired teacher who loves the Arts – including Photography.

As a photographer, I want to capture the beauty of life. Nature has always been, and will always be, a great source of inspiration. I’m particularly fond of flowers and plants.

I’m also inspired by the great artists, such as the French impressionists, for example. I aim for a painterly expression in my work and I don’t care too much about perfect sharpness. Instead, I use a lot of blur because it gives me the kind of dreamy emotion that I’m after.

Techniques that I use are often multiple exposures, motion blur and a shallow depth of field.
