“Brush strokes of the waves”

By weather and wind, the character of the sea can change dramatically. Using long exposure times – combined with movement of the camera itself – I have tried to emphasize the formations, light and colours of the waves. That way the waves by themselves create the brush strokes of a painting on the camera sensor, reminding of the original meaning of the word photography – drawing with light.

Most of the images in the series are photographed from the same place at the shore of the bay Skälderviken in the south of Sweden, at different times and weather conditions.
